About the Dragonfly Guild

Welcome to the Dragonfly Guild! This site will showcase artworks by me, Judy Anderson. I studied Fine Arts at the University of Minnesota. With a forte' in ceramics, studying under internationally known potter, Warren MacKenzie. A background in areas such as printmaking, drawing, sculpture, watercolor, jewelry-making, silkscreen and photography, yet jewelry and wheel-thrown pottery are my favored methods of creative expression.

Why the dragonfly? The dragonfly is one of my personal animal totems. It has always heralded good luck and success for me. It embodies the qualities of speed and grace, is a ferocious hunter and is rather mythical-looking in its complex beauty. In some native American cultures,

".....dragonfly medicine is of the dreamtime and the illusionary facade we accept as physical reality. The irridescence of Dragonfly's wings remind us of colors not found in our everyday experience......It beckons us to seek out habits which need changing.
